Battle Creek Middle School Families, below are this week's announcements:

Grease & '50s; Tuesday isSaturday Night Fever & '70s; Wednesday isBack to the Future & '80s; Thursday isSpace Jam & '90s; and Friday is pajama day. Costumes should still be school appropriate, and hats are fine if they are in theme coupled with an outfit.

On Thursday after lunch, Student Council will host a Class vs. Class Dodgeball Tournament with 10 team members each. $5 fee per player. Students may watch the tournament by purchasing $1 tickets, and the concession stand will be open. The winning team of the student bracket will face off against a teacher team during the all-school pep rally, which is also open to the public beginning at 2:00.

Otis Spunkmeyer cookie dough sales have begun, and all students have brochures and order forms. The first money turn-in date is this Tuesday.
* Please make sure that money collection envelopes are completely filled out including student's name, quantity ordered, money collected, etc. Money should be sealed in the envelope included. We will only fulfill orders that money have been collected for.

On Monday, students will receive instruction sheets and unique usernames and passwords for parents to log into ParentVUE, the online portal that will allow you access to your child’s grades, attendance, and behavior data through a secure online portal. Please follow the directions exactly as they appear on the instruction sheet; if you have any questions, please call the school office.

Basketball tryouts are this coming Friday; please make sure your TSSAA physical forms and permission slips are submitted to Coach Hull or Coach Borum before then.

On Monday, girl’s soccer plays at EA Cox, and the golf team takes on Hampshire at the Mt. Pleasant Golf Course. On Tuesday, they play at Spring Hill High School vs. Mt. Pleasant, while the volleyball team takes to the road vs. EA Cox and the golf team plays against Whitthorne at Stoneybrook Golf Course. On Thursday, the football team squares off against Springfield in our Homecoming game at Spring Hill High School at 6:00 p.m.

In ACT classes, students will continue learning about three states of mind related to emotion, reason, and wisdom; please ask them about these concepts this week. Their character dare is called “Delightful Door,” where they are challenged for a period of 24 hours to stop at each door they come to and hold it open for anyone coming behind them. We’ve noticed many of our students already do this for other students and staff every day at school; please affirm this behavior if you see it in action. The character dare for families this week is to pick one night to have a little fun together with a family board game or movie night.
We hope everyone has a great week!
